3/28/2024 0 Comments Ms access vba loading progress barSo you are resizing the image rather than using an actual progress bar. Just something funky going on with the display in my app!īen, thanks for the download. I have no idea how long the file will take to load, so this will be one of those progress bars that just moves across the screen and then starts over again. Sometimes you dont need a progressbar control ) Topic: VBA - Working with Scroll Bars - The most simplest way. I am using Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7. the interesting thing is, that as the code progresses, i can see the form 'icon' opening and closing in the windows Task Bar, so it looks to be doing something, just not updating on screen for me!Īlso, I am pretty sure my functions work, because ina standalone chunk of VBA, I can open, close, reopen and progress the ProgressBar. 1 Some of my forms take a while to load - especially when I am working at home, so I wanted to add a progress bar to show their progress. But in that list of components, Microsoft Progress Bar Control 6.0 (SP4) is missing. The form opens, displays the first text update ("FTPing files." in this case) but then does not display anything else. so whatever the standard type of form is, i guess that's what I have!Ĥ.I have tried both DoEvents and repaint but neither work. Demonstrating how you can easily incorporate a customizable and resizable Progress Bar within any Microsoft Access database using a standard form and a littl. I just created a standard form and added a progress bar (activeX) and text box. I dont believe I have changed application.echo anywhere, but will need to double check the code.ģ.Not sure if the form is Popup & Modal - i'll have to check. I have allowed the app to run thru to completion so should have seen some update!Ģ. the normal user interface is not responsive and I have to close access down.ġ. When the process finishes (after not updating the progress bar!), Access appears to hang. (note that when I test the functions in a stand alone module, the progress bar increments as expected) – the first init brings up the form and populates the text but no other updates appear to have any affect. The progress bar does not update when run as part of my VB app. There are 2 problems I am experiencing though. If you want to display a messge rather than an hour-glass, here is a method I use a lot in Excel that Im sure would work in MS Access. When I am finished one step, I initialize the form again with a new set data. As each step progresses, I increment the progressbar. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work properly!Įssentially for the status bar, at each step, I initialize a form which contains a text box and a progressbar. This has been working fine for ages, but I decided to add a progress / status bar to the app so people know it hasn't just died as it works away. I have an Access 2003 application which does several steps I finally hit a problem that an existing post here doesn't seem to explain and help solve!Ĭan anyone help me ProgressBar in Access?
